We provide weekly residential garbage collection for all unincorporated areas of Baldwin County, as well as participating municipalities including Summerdale, Bay Minette, and Perdido Beach. This service plays an important role in reducing illegal dumping, minimizing litter, and keeping our communities clean, safe, and well-maintained.
Collection runs Monday through Thursday, with no service on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day. On all other holidays, service operates as usual. To ensure timely pickup, please have your garbage placed at the curb by 6:00 AM on your scheduled collection day.
Each residence is provided with a 95-gallon cart for household waste.
Yes. Baldwin County has mandatory garbage collection. You must either be on garbage service of some kind or have a “haul your own permit” which is obtained through the Health Department.
No. Effective 8/7/19 we no longer require a deposit to start garbage service.
New residents can apply for service by contacting the Baldwin County Solid Waste office or visiting the county’s online service portal. You’ll be guided through setting up your account, selecting your services, and confirming your pickup schedule.
Garbage collection crews operate Monday through Thursday.
Garbage will not be picked up on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day.
Garbage on all other holidays will be picked up as scheduled.
Please have your garbage out by 6:00 AM on your pickup day.
For residential customers, a garbage cart will be provided to you by Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin County, AL, Inc., and the cost is included in your bill.
If your pickup was missed, please notify our team as soon as possible through the customer service phone line or by submitting a service request online. Provide your address and the type of missed service so we can resolve it promptly.
We offer convenient bulky item and yard waste pickup for residents who need to dispose of large or non-standard household items that cannot be collected through regular service. Pickup is available by request, with one free service each month.
We are expanding curbside recycling across Baldwin County to make recycling more accessible and convenient for residents. This service allows you to recycle from home while helping reduce landfill waste and support a more sustainable community.
For materials that cannot be placed in your recycling cart, our CHaRM (Center for Hard-to-Recycle Materials) facilities provide an easy and responsible solution for proper disposal.
To begin curbside recycling service, please download and fill out the Application for Service. Applications may be submitted by email or mail, or delivered in person to SWDA’s offices.
The following materials are accepted in your curbside recycling cart:
Waxed paper products, any food packaging like ice cream or milk cartons, thick plastics like tarps, and any electronic goods.
The $10 monthly fee supports convenient weekly curbside recycling pickup for participating households. This program helps ensure recyclable materials are properly collected and delivered to our recycling facility, where they are sorted and prepared for reuse.
